With a ton of choices, buying a smartphone can become a confusing adventure for many. And in the Nepali market, the 50K price bracket is probably the trickiest of them all. That’s because this is a category that’s more than midrange yet less than the premium midrangers. So oftentimes, most phones in this range don’t find the right balance between price and overall performance. To help you with your purchase decision, here is our list of the best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal.
How to find the best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal?
As aforementioned, phones under 50K are sort of a middle ground between midrange and premium midrange devices, so their feature set and overall value for money can be a bit tricky to figure out. Anyway, you shouldn’t settle for anything less than a high refresh rate OLED display when spending NPR 50000 on a phone. An attractive and durable design is another thing to look out for here.
While an official IP rating is pretty rare in this segment, if that’s a must for you, then Samsung has got you covered. The 2024 Redmi smartphones also bear an official IP68 rating, while Samsung phones usually come with IP67 dust and water resistance as well. Performance shouldn’t be a concern on these smartphones either, whereas you also get a capable camera setup here. Some brands even offer OIS and 4K recording in this price range.
1. Realme 12 Pro+
Better late than never, the Realme 12 Pro+ has finally gone official in Nepal with quite a competitive price tag. And it has thus secured the second position on this list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal. The midrange phone arrives with some eye-catching specs like a 3X periscope zoom lens and an elegant design.
As with the previous series, Realme has partnered up with a luxury watch designer to create an enigmatic camera module and a vegan leather back. Upfront, there is a curved 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 800 nits of HBM, and 950 nits of peak brightness.
Periscope zoom Lens
The elephant of the room is none other than the 64MP periscope zoom lens, which makes it the only phone in the segment, to feature on. So, having a 3X zoom lens is all good for stellar portraits. In our testing phase too, the 64MP OmniVision sensor performed really well close to flagship phones. Other than that, the 50MP main Sony IMX890 camera also performs well while the 8MP ultrawide unit is just decent.
Running the things on the core here is a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC built on a 4nm process. It is paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Likewise, the phone boots on Android 13-based Realme UI 5.0. A 5000mAh battery is under the hood powering things up, which supports 67W of SuperVOOC fast charging.

2. Infinix GT 20 Pro
The newly launched Infinix GT 20 Pro is exactly what you should get if gaming is your top priority. Because from a powerful Dimensity 8200 Ultimate processor to a graphite sheet + vapor chamber cooling system, the fastest RAM you could find on a smartphone, and a separate Pixelworks X5 display processor, the GT 20 Pro is easily the top choice on our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal.
120 fps on PUBG
And I’m happy to report that this guy performed impressively in all our gaming tests. Including when playing PUBG at 120 fps, where the Infinix GT 20 Pro managed an incredible 112.75 fps average. Matter of fact, this is the most affordable phone that can play PUBG at 120 fps.
Like I mentioned before, its cooling system is no joke either. Even when playing something as graphically demanding as Genshin Impact, the GT 20 Pro climbed to just around 44°C, which is quite commendable. I also like how it supports bypass charging, which reduces the load on the battery by powering the phone directly via the charger.
Gaming aside, it has a pretty interesting design too. There’s even something called “Mecha Loop” lighting at the back, similar to the glowing LED lights we’ve seen on Nothing phones. It has a nice 144Hz AMOLED display too, while the battery life side of things is a solid B+ too. We also found the GT 20 Pro’s 108MP main camera to be surprisingly good for both photos and videos. Although the fact that it doesn’t have an ultrawide shooter is a bummer.
Infinix GT 20 Pro Specifications:
Display: 6.78-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 144Hz refresh rate
Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate 5G (4nm mobile platform)
Memory: 8/12GB RAM, 256GB storage (expandable)
Software & UI: XOS 14 on top of Android 14
Rear Camera: Triple (108MP main, 2MP depth, 2MP macro)
Front Camera: 32MP sensor (hole-punch)
Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)
Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.2, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo, USB-C, 4G LTE, 5G
Sensors: Accelerometer, Geomagnetic, Gyro, Proximity
Battery: 5000mAh with 45W charging (45W adapter inside the box)
Price in Nepal: NPR 47,999 (12/256GB)
3. Redmi Note 13 Pro+
Bagging the third medal on our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal is none other than the Redmi Note 13 Pro+. The top-end model in Xiaomi’s latest Redmi Note 13 series. This guy brings a bunch of flagship features at a mid-range price, like Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection for the display, IP68 dust and water resistance rating, and 120W fast charging.
Xiaomi has also worked a lot on the design side of things this time. It’s got a nice curved finish on both sides and either a glass or leather finish at the back of the phone. But unfortunately, the leather variant of Redmi Note 13 Pro+ isn’t available in Nepal. As for the display, it’s got a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ certification, 1,800 nits of peak brightness, and so much more.
Dimensity 7200 Ultra
Under the hood, the Note 13 Pro+ is powered by a Dimensity 7200 Ultra chip. It’s a pretty powerful processor for casual everyday usage, multitasking, and even a little bit of gaming. And we like how Xiaomi has been generous with the storage on this thing as well since you get 256GB of storage in the base model itself.
In terms of software, it boots on MIUI 14 built on top of Android 13. And although Xiaomi has promised 3+4 years of updates for this guy, we would’ve liked to see it launch with Android 14-based HyperOS instead. Getting to the optics, it has a triple-camera setup at the back. But even though it uses the same camera hardware as last year’s Redmi Note 12 Pro+, we found it to be doing much better on the photography front.
Redmi Note 13 Pro+ Specifications:
Display: 6.67-inches AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass Victus
Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra 5G (4nm)
Memory: 8/12GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 512GB UFS 3.1 internal storage (fixed)
Software & UI: MIUI 14 on top of Android 13
Rear Camera: Triple (200MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)
Front Camera: 16MP sensor (hole-punch)
Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)
Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou / QZSS, USB-C, NFC, 4G LTE, 5G
Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, E-compass, Gyro, Infrared, Proximity
Battery: 5000mAh with 120W charging (120W adapter inside the box)
Price in Nepal: NPR 47,999 (8/256GB)
4. Samsung Galaxy A54
And the fourth spot on our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal goes to the Samsung Galaxy A54, albeit it’s from 2023. Cause’ it’s available at a discounted price at the moment in the Hukut Store.
Talking of the design, the Galaxy A54 features a typical Sammy A-series vibe. The phone has curved edges at the back for a comfortable grip and is available in Lime, Violet, and Graphite finishes. As an “A” series device, Samsung has opted to go with a glass back here, while this thing also bears an IP67 rating. As for the display, Galaxy A54 brings a compact 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Plus panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. And it has good colors and brightness levels for easy outdoor visibility.
Exynos 1380
When it comes to performance, the Galaxy A54 is powered by the same Exynos 1380 chip. On paper, it’s a pretty capable processor but Samsung hasn’t optimized it very well. That’s not to say that the phone struggles with casual everyday usage, absolutely not. But be it thermals or gameplay stability, there’s a lot of room for improvement. At least Samsung has promised 4 years of OS and 5 years of security updates here, so we can hope the Galaxy A54 ages better with time.
Camera-wise, you get a 50MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro sensor here. And in our tests, the phone performed admirably well across various conditions. You can also shoot up to 4K 30 fps videos from this phone but Samsung has disabled OIS for videos.
Samsung Galaxy A54 Specifications:
Display: 6.4-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 5
Chipset: Samsung Exynos 1380 5G (5nm mobile platform)
Memory: 8GB RAM, 256GB storage (expandable)
Software & UI: One UI 5.1 on top of Android 13
Rear Camera: Triple (50MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)
Front Camera: 32MP sensor (teardrop notch)
Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou / QZSS, USB-C, 4G LTE, 5G
Sensors: Accelerometer, Geomagnetic, Gyro, Light, Proximity
Battery: 5000mAh with 25W charging (power adapter provided)
Price in Nepal: NPR 51,999 (8/256GB)
5. Nothing Phone (2a)
At number 5 spot on our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal is the newly launched Nothing Phone (2a). While we do admit it could’ve been priced a lot more aggressively, the Phone (2a) is a decent option that ticks a lot of boxes that we look for on a midrange phone anyway.
Starting with performance. The Phone (2a) is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 Pro chip, which can handle most of your everyday use just fine. Especially since Nothing’s custom Android skin feels so smooth and effortless compared to most Chinese phones. Then there’s the promise of 3 years of OS updates and a year more of security patches that further sweetens the deal.
Glyph Interface
And of course, its design is as unique as they come. You don’t get all the Glyph lights like you would on Nothing’s more expensive phones like the Phone (1) and Phone (2), but it gets the job done to keep you notified. You know what? Even though the Phone (2a) has a plastic build, it doesn’t feel that cheap when you’re actually holding it in your hands.
It has a nice 120Hz OLED display too. With decent colors, brightness levels, and everything. I’m pretty happy with its vibration feedback as well, while the Phone (2a)’s battery life isn’t too bad either. And under light to medium usage, it should easily last you around one and a half days.
As for cameras, Nothing has gone with a similar dual camera setup at the back as on the Phone (2), but with a different set of sensors. We found its camera capabilities to be pretty decent for the most part, although Nothing could still push and update or two to further optimize the Phone (2a)’s cameras.
Nothing Phone (2a) Specifications:
Display: 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate
Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro 5G (4nm mobile platform)
Memory: 8/12GB RAM, 128/256GB storage (fixed)
Software & UI: Nothing OS 2.5 on top of Android 14
Rear Camera: Dual (50MP main, 50MP ultrawide)
Front Camera: 32MP sensor (hole-punch)
Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)
Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (Dual-band), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / BDS / QZSS, USB-C, 5G
Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, E-compass, Gyroscope, Proximity, Sensor core
Battery: 5000mAh with 45W charging (power adapter not provided)
Price in Nepal:
Black/White: NPR 48,999 (8/256GB)
Blue: NPR 49,499 (8/256GB)
6. Samsung Galaxy A35
And Samsung has secured the sixth phone on our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal with the Galaxy A35 5G. It brings a couple of quality-of-life upgrades — alongside a few unfortunate downgrades — to deliver a great smartphone experience overall.
Bye bye, notch
So right off the bat, we absolutely love how Samsung has parted ways with the teardrop notch this time. And the 13MP selfie camera on the Galaxy A35 now sits behind a modern-looking hole-punch cutout instead. Then there are a few more things to look forward to this time in terms of the design and build quality. Like the Victus+ protection on the display and a glass back construction.
Apart from this, not much else has changed on the design front. Except for one thing. The volume rockers and the power button on the Galaxy A35 now sit on something called a “Key Island”. Which is just a fancy name for a slightly protruded space and nothing more. Its cameras are also more-or-less similar to the Galaxy A34 but with tad better optimization here and there. And we found it to deliver a reliable camera experience in most occasions, both in terms of photos and videos.
But performance is where things get a little tricky here. The Galaxy A35 is more than well-equipped to handle everyday usage, and its software experience is pretty much some of the best you can find in this price range. Having said that, Samsung’s decision to go with its in-house Exynos 1380 chip this time is bad news if you had some gaming hopes with this guy. At least its battery life is pretty swell, lasting a little over a day even under heavy usage.
Samsung Galaxy A35 Specifications:
Display: 6.6-inches AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass Victus+
Chipset: Samsung Exynos 1380 5G (5nm mobile platform)
Memory: 6/8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage (expandable)
Software & UI: One UI 6.1 on top of Android 13
Rear Camera: Triple (50MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)
Front Camera: 13MP sensor (hole-punch)
Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)
Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 6 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou / QZSS, USB-C, NFC, 4G LTE, 5G
Sensors: Accelerometer, Geomagnetic, Gyro, Hall, Light, Virtual proximity
Battery: 5000mAh with 25W charging (25W power adapter provided)
Price in Nepal: NPR 46,999 (8/128GB)
7. Honor X9b
At number 7 on our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal is the Honor X9b. Available in Sunrise Orange, Midnight Black, and Emerald Green color options, the Honor X9b looks and feels like a premium phone. It is slim and wins big points as far as ergonomics is concerned. And that bold circular camera ring at the back is something of a conversation piece as well.
But the actual cameras on this phone are not that inspiring. There’s a triple camera array inside the aforementioned camera ring, which includes a 108MP main, a 5MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens. However, we found that Honor hasn’t optimized the cameras that well. And its ultrawide sensor is especially underwhelming for a premium mid-range phone. Honor X9b also lacks optical image stabilization (OIS), while there’s no EIS for videos either.
Super strong display
But the biggest highlight of this phone is definitely its display. The Honor X9b has a gorgeous 6.78-inch curved AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and minimal bezels on all four sides that looks stunning. The company has also ensured its durability with a 360° anti-drop protection system. And in our rigorous drop tests, we found it to be holding up perfectly fine as well.
Its performance is handled by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, which is a good processor for regular everyday usage and some gaming as well. This chip has been complemented by a healthy 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. As for software, the phone runs on Android 13-based MagicUI 7.2. This custom Android skin is free of any unnecessary bloatware apps and is quite stable too.
Even though the Honor X9b is a pretty slim phone, the company has managed to pack a massive 5800mAh battery on this thing. As a result, its battery life is fantastic, managing to last a full day and more. And with the 35W charger that’s included inside the box itself, you can fill it up in two hours.
Honor X9b Specifications:
Display: 6.78-inches AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate
Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 5G (4nm mobile platform)
Memory: 12GB RAM, 256GB storage (fixed)
Software & UI: Magic UI 7.2 on top of Android 13
Rear Camera: Triple (108MP main, 5MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)
Front Camera: 16MP sensor (hole-punch)
Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)
Connectivity: Hybrid Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou, NFC, USB-C, 4G LTE, 5G
Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, Compass, Gravity, Gyro, Proximity
Battery: 5800mAh with 35W charging (35W adapter inside the box)
Price in Nepal: NPR 43,999 (12/256GB)
