Just recently, two new Redmi devices have surfaced in the TENAA listing with the model numbers 23090RA98C and 2312DRA50C. The listings provide detailed specifications that fuel speculation that these devices could potentially be the upcoming Redmi Note 13 Pro and 13 Pro+ models. Design and Display
The Redmi Note 13 Pro series is expected to feature a 6.67-inch 1.5K curved-edge AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. Sources are also expecting it to feature 1,800 nits of peak brightness and 1920 Hz high-frequency dimming. It will reportedly also feature an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The promotional poster for the product shows the phone with a leather finish. Talking about the build, the Note 13 Pro is slim at 7.98mm and 187g, while the Note 13 Pro+ offers a slightly thicker build at 9.0mm and 203.96g.
Dust and Water Resistance
As per a recent announcement, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ will be boasting IP68 dust and water resistance. This is the first time the Redmi Note series of phones will be receiving such high dust and water resistance. It has also been reported that the phone has an extra opening at the top serving as a pressure release valve. This supposed valve allows the phone to achieve the IP68 rating.
Furthermore, Redmi’s General Manager shed some light on three key improvements made to achieve the IP68 rating on the Redmi Note 13 Pro+. They are:
- Structural Reinforcements: The phone has 19 custom structural components such as multi-layer screen protection, a double-layer back cover, and a sealed SIM card holder and ejector pinhole.
- Internal Strength: It features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus along with reinforced key structures. These key structures include a high-strength aluminium alloy frame, strengthened corners, and a thick motherboard. Stainless steel and polymer buff glue have been used to improve its drop resistance, as well.
- Rigorous Testing: The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ underwent 10 extra tests to achieve its IP68 rating. These tests include tests for airtightness type-c boards, earpieces, speakers, and frame components.
Performance and Memory
As per the latest confirmation, Redmi Note 13 Pro+ will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset. Whereas the Pro version will opt for the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, which is a toned-down version of the 7+ Gen 2.
The devices are anticipated to offer a wide range of memory options, including 8GB, 12GB, 16GB, and 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM coupled with storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB using UFS 3.1 technology. Running on Android 13 with the MIUI 14 user interface, the smartphones will support dual SIM functionality with nano-sized SIM cards.
Camera
The official teasers of these handsets show a triple-camera setup on the back. It will consist of a powerful 200MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a wide aperture, and a 2MP macro camera for close-up shots. Also, for selfies and video calls, a 16MP front camera utilizing an Omnivision OV16A1Q sensor will be available at the front.
Battery and Charging
The Redmi Note 13 Pro is rumoured to feature a battery with a capacity of 5160mAh accompanied by 67W fast charging technology. On the other hand, the Note 13 Pro+ will get a 5,120mAh battery, supported by an even faster 120W fast charging capability.
