The company has been heavily inspired by the newest iPhones when designing the Honor X8a. It’s got flat edges, flat frames, and curved corners just like the iPhone 14 series.

And its squarish camera housing with big circular camera lenses is also a lot reminiscent of the iPhones. 10. Vivo Y36

If all of this sounds familiar, it’s because the Realme Narzo 50 is heavily based on 2021’s Realme 8i. If you want some of the best multimedia experiences at a minimum budget, last year’s Redmi Note 11 is still a great choice. It’s one of the cheapest phones in Nepal to come with a 90Hz AMOLED screen with an FHD+ resolution. Phones in this price range usually compromise on at least one of those three criteria but that’s absent here. Moving on, the stereo speakers on this phone are equally impressive.

Likewise, the 5,000mAh battery combined with a power-efficient 6nm chip amounts to a considerable battery backup. As a result, you will hardly run into low battery when watching your favorite show on Netflix or something. Even if you do end up in a similar scenario, the 33W box included in the box can completely fill up the phone in a little more than an hour.

The two aspects where Redmi Note 11 fails to impress are gaming and photography. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680 even falls behind MediaTek’s Helio G96 or G99 when it comes to gaming. Likewise, we found the Redmi Note 11’s cameras to be unreliable at times, though they appear to be amongst the most complete setup on paper.

In case you haven’t noticed, Samsung’s design choice for its 2023 smartphones—from budget to flagship models—has been pretty much the same. And the Galaxy A14 5G shares the same visual aesthetics too.

So if you want an attractive budget phone, then this is one of the best options out there. Galaxy A14 5G is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 1330 (5nm) chip, which has an octa-core CPU with 2x Cortex-A78 (@2.4 GHz) and 6x Cortex-A55 (@2.0 GHz) cores. Although this is the strongest CPU setup in any phone in this price range, Exynos 1330 hasn’t been well-optimized yet. But Samsung is expected to gradually improve its performance in the coming days.

Matter of fact, the company has promised 2 major OS and 4 years of security updates for the Galaxy A14 5G too. Its cameras are fairly nice too, although Samsung has skipped on an ultrawide sensor this time. Likewise, the display on this thing is just about average. You’re looking at a 6.6″ FHD LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate—at a time when the competition is offering 120Hz AMOLED displays at this price.

Moving on, Xiaomi’s new Redmi Note 12 4G takes the fifth spot on our list of best phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal. To be fair, it’s not as powerful as the Redmi Note 11S above but it’s a relatively more balanced package instead. Compared to the Snapdragon 680 chip in last year’s Redmi Note 11, Xiaomi has used Snapdragon 685 here for relatively smoother performance overall.

This phone also arrives with the latest version of Android—aka Android 13—with MIUI 14 on top. And the company has also committed to 2 generations of OS and 4 years of security updates for this guy. Its other highlights include a big 6.67″ 120Hz AMOLED display, 5000mAh battery, 33W fast charging, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader for biometrics.

In terms of cameras, Xiaomi has actually gotten rid of the gimmicky 2MP depth sensor here compared to the Redmi Note 11. But that’s nothing to worry about. So you’re looking at a typical triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary, an 8MP ultrawide, and a useless 2MP macro sensor. The 13MP selfie shooter inside the hole-punch cutout remains unchanged too.

The new Honor 90 Lite also finds its way into our list of best phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal. Launched alongside the Honor 90, this phone brings a fairly premium-looking design and a bold look. And measuring just 7.48mm thick and weighing around 179 grams only, this thing is pretty handy too.

Up front, you’re looking at a big 6.7-inch display with an FHD resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It’s not an AMOLED panel — which is what you’d find on all the upcoming phones on this list — but it’s fine for an LCD panel. As for performance, Honor has gone with MediaTek’s Dimensity 6020 (a rebranded Dimensity 700 from 2021) chip here. Along with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage in the sole memory configuration.

Getting to cameras, Honor 90 Lite is headlined by a 100MP primary camera alongside a 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro shooter. While there’s a 16MP sensor up front for selfies. We found Honor 90 Lite’s screen time to be pretty great though, thanks to its 4500mAh battery. And to fill it up, you get a 22.5W power adapter inside the box.

And the Realme 10 takes the bronze medal on our list of best phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal. It brings some meaningful upgrades over the Realme 9 to really elevate your smartphone experience. Most notably, Realme 10 comes with a much more powerful MediaTek Helio G99 chip, which is quite a step up from Snapdragon 680 used in its predecessor.

With this, games like PUBG Mobile are playable with up to 40 fps, whereas you get to enjoy smooth 60 fps gameplay on Call of Duty Mobile. Even in something like Mech Arena, Realme 10 manages an impressive 80 fps on average. Apart from gaming performance, its software side of things is pretty well-optimized too. There are quite a bunch of bloatware apps pre-installed but you can uninstall most of them.

Realme 10 impresses with its design and display too. But the camera department sees a minor downgrade as Realme has skipped a dedicated ultrawide shooter this time. Whereas the main camera is also a 50MP unit here, instead of 108MP. Still, we found its main sensor to perform quite well under ample lighting conditions.

Having said that, the Note 12 5G is powered by a much more powerful Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chip instead of Snapdragon 680. With two Cortex-A78 (@2.0 GHz) and six Cortex-A55 (@1.8 GHz) CPUs and Adreno 619 GPU, this is the most powerful processor you could find in this price range. Unfortunately, although Xiaomi has promised 2 years of OS and 4 years of security updates for Redmi Note 12 5G, this phone still ships with Android 12-based MIUI 14 out-of-the-box.

As for the cameras, it swaps Redmi Note 12 4G’s 50MP main sensor with a 48MP unit while borrowing everything else. This includes an 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro, and a 13MP selfie shooter. Other than this, Redmi Note 12 5G is IP53 dust/splash resistant and has the same side-mounted fingerprint reader for biometrics too.

And in terms of software, Galaxy A24 4G runs on the latest Android 13-based One UI 5.1. But more importantly, Samsung has promised 4 generations of OS and 5 years of security updates for this phone, which is the longest software commitment you get in any budget device.

Its 6.5-inch FHD Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate is also pretty sweet. The notch and the bottom bezel aren’t the prettiest things to look at, but it’s not a big deal. Galaxy A24 has a decent camera setup too, consisting of a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 5MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro, and a 13MP selfie camera.
