Best Mobile Phones Under Rs. 30,000 in Nepal

Best Mobile Phones Under Rs. 30,000 in Nepal

In this article, we will take a look at the best phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal. Right now, there are a lot of options in midrange phones, especially in the Rs 30K price segment. The main reason for this is the purchasing power of most of the Nepali audience. Therefore, every major smartphone brand has at least one offering in this price range.

How to find the best phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal?

These Android phones offer excellent value for money with good performance and other features at a moderate price. For NPR 30000 in Nepal, you should be able to get a good set of features. Full HD resolution is quite common at this price, while AMOLED panels are also appearing in more and more phones. Similarly, performance should not be an issue, especially for brands like Xiaomi and Realme. These days, many cameras are also easily available on midrange phones. However, don't be fooled by the multiple-camera setup as the macro and depth lenses are quite a marketing gimmick. So, make sure to check out our individual reviews in detail to learn more.

Best mobile phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal:

11. Honor X8a

Kicking off our list of best phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal is the newly launched Honor X8a. And like most other Honor phones out there, one of the biggest highlights of the X8a is its design too. The company has been heavily inspired by the newest iPhones when designing the Honor X8a. It’s got flat edges, flat frames, and curved corners just like the iPhone 14 series.

And its squarish camera housing with big circular camera lenses is also a lot reminiscent of the iPhones. You’re looking at a triple camera array here, including a 100MP primary, a 5MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro unit. So if a statement piece is what you’re after, then the Honor X8a definitely delivers on that front.

Coming to the display, it has quite minimal bezels—boasting an impressive 93.6% screen-to-body ratio. But this is still an LCD screen (instead of AMOLED) with a 90Hz refresh rate. As for performance, Honor X8a is powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 chip with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. So you can expect decent everyday performance here and nothing more.

Honor X8a Specifications:

  • Display: 6.7-inch LTPS LCD screen, FHD+, 90Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio G88 4G (12nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 6/8GB RAM, 128GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Magic UI 6.1 on top of Android 12
  • Rear Camera: Triple (100MP primary, 5MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 16MP sensor (hole-punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5 (Dual-band), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou, USB-C, 4G LTE
  • Sensors: Ambient light, Compass, Gravity, Proximity
  • Battery: 4500mAh with 22.5W charging (22.5W adapter inside the box)
  • Price in Nepal: NPR 30,490* (8/128GB)

10. Vivo Y36

And at number 10 on our list of best phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal is the recently launched Vivo Y36. It’s the successor to last year’s Vivo Y35, which is still available in Nepal. And this guy brings a few upgrades, most notably in terms of design and software. Whereas Vivo Y36 still has the same 90Hz FHD IPS display, Snapdragon 680 processor, a 5000mAh battery, and more.

Most notably, Vivo has finally moved away from a teardrop notch for the front camera to a hole-punch design this time. And the Y36 also arrives in a couple of attractive color options, including “Glitter Aqua” (pictured above), “Vibrant Gold”, and “Meteor Black”. Vivo has also gone with flat frames for a bold look here. And to complement such a bold design, Vivo Y36 gets an official IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.

Design aside, Vivo Y36 has a triple camera setup at the back, consisting of a 50MP primary and a couple of useless 2MP sensors for depth and macro shots. Whereas you’ll find a 16MP selfie camera behind the aforementioned hole-punch cutout. In terms of software, the phone arrives with Android 13-based Funtouch OS 13.

Vivo Y36 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.64-inch IPS LCD screen, FHD+, 90Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G (12nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 4/8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Funtouch OS 13 on top of Android 13 (upgradeable)
  • Rear Camera: Triple (50MP primary, 2MP depth, 2MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 16MP sensor (hole-punch cutout)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5 (Dual-band), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou / QZSS, USB-C, 4G LTE
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, E-compass, Gyro, Proximity
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 44W charging (44W adapter inside the box)
  • Price in Nepal: NPR 27,999 (8/128GB)

9. Realme Narzo 50

Next up on our last list of best phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal is the Realme Narzo 50. Interestingly enough, while most phones here settle with a 90Hz refresh rate, the Narzo 50 boasts a smoother 120Hz refresh rate instead.

That being said, this guy doesn’t use an AMOLED panel, which many phones have started to offer in this price range. Keeping that aside, this screen also has a 180Hz touch sampling rate and 600 nits of brightness.

Under the hood, it packs the MediaTek Helio G96 chipset, which should be enough for casual gaming. Over on the back, it features a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary, 2MP monochrome, and a 2MP macro camera. If all of this sounds familiar, it’s because the Realme Narzo 50 is heavily based on 2021’s Realme 8i. The only difference is that the Narzo 50 has 33W fast charging compared to Realme 8i’s 18W charging.

Realme Narzo 50 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio G96 4G (12nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 4/6GB LPDDR4X RAM, 64/128GB UFS 2.1 storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Realme UI 2.0 on top of Android 11
  • Rear Camera: Triple (50MP primary, 2MP B&W portrait, 2MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 16MP sensor (hole-punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5 (Dual-band), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou, USB-C, 4G LTE
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Gyro, Magnetic induction, Light, Proximity
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 33W charging (33W adapter inside the box)
  • Price in Nepal: NPR 23,999 (4/64GB) | NPR 27,499 (6/128GB)

8. POCO M5

Now, if you’re looking to buy one of the best gaming phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal, then the POCO M5 is a really good option you can consider. It has MediaTek’s Helio G99 chip inside, which is slightly more powerful than Realme Narzo 50’s Helio G96. And far more capable than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680.

For example, POCO M5 lets you play PUBG Mobile at a smooth 40 fps at Smooth graphics and Ultra frame rates. Whereas it can handle relatively light games like Mobile Legends with a stable 60 fps as well. POCO has even optimized high-fps titles like Alto’s Odyssey to make full use of the phone’s 90Hz refresh rate display.

Besides all this, POCO M5 also has a unique dual-tone design topped off with a leather-like material. The phone has three cameras at the back, but as expected, only the 50MP main sensor is any good. POCO M5 has a big 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. And you get a 22.5W power adapter inside the box.

POCO M5 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen, FHD+, 90Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 3
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio G99 4G (6nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 4/6GB LPDDR4X RAM, 64/128GB UFS 2.2 storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: MIUI 13 for POCO on top of Android 12
  • Rear Camera: Triple (50MP primary, 2MP depth, 2MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 5MP sensor (teardrop notch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5 (Dual-band), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou, USB-C, 4G LTE
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, E-compass, Proximity
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 18W charging (22.5W adapter inside the box)

7. Redmi Note 11

If you want some of the best multimedia experiences at a minimum budget, last year’s Redmi Note 11 is still a great choice. It’s one of the cheapest phones in Nepal to come with a 90Hz AMOLED screen with an FHD+ resolution. Phones in this price range usually compromise on at least one of those three criteria but that’s absent here. Moving on, the stereo speakers on this phone are equally impressive.

Likewise, the 5,000mAh battery combined with a power-efficient 6nm chip amounts to a considerable battery backup. As a result, you will hardly run into low battery when watching your favorite show on Netflix or something. Even if you do end up in a similar scenario, the 33W box included in the box can completely fill up the phone in a little more than an hour.

The two aspects where Redmi Note 11 fails to impress are gaming and photography. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680 even falls behind MediaTek’s Helio G96 or G99 when it comes to gaming. Likewise, we found the Redmi Note 11’s cameras to be unreliable at times, though they appear to be amongst the most complete setup on paper.

Redmi Note 11 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.43-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 90Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 3
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G (6nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 4/6GB LPDDR4X RAM, 64/128GB UFS 2.2 storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: MIUI 13 on top of Android 11
  • Rear Camera: Quad (50MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP depth, 2MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 13MP sensor (hole-punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / BDS, USB Type-C
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Proximity, E-compass, Gyro, 360 Ambient Light
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 33W fast charging (33W adapter inside the box)

6. Samsung Galaxy A14 5G

The Galaxy A14 5G is the first Samsung phone to appear on our list of best phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal. In case you haven’t noticed, Samsung’s design choice for its 2023 smartphones—from budget to flagship models—has been pretty much the same. And the Galaxy A14 5G shares the same visual aesthetics too.

So if you want an attractive budget phone, then this is one of the best options out there. Galaxy A14 5G is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 1330 (5nm) chip, which has an octa-core CPU with 2x Cortex-A78 (@2.4 GHz) and 6x Cortex-A55 (@2.0 GHz) cores. Although this is the strongest CPU setup in any phone in this price range, Exynos 1330 hasn’t been well-optimized yet. But Samsung is expected to gradually improve its performance in the coming days.

Matter of fact, the company has promised 2 major OS and 4 years of security updates for the Galaxy A14 5G too. Its cameras are fairly nice too, although Samsung has skipped on an ultrawide sensor this time. Likewise, the display on this thing is just about average. You’re looking at a 6.6″ FHD LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate—at a time when the competition is offering 120Hz AMOLED displays at this price.

Samsung Galaxy A14 5G Specifications:

  • Display: 6.6-inch PLS LCD screen, FHD+, 90Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 5
  • Chipset: Exynos 1330 5G (5nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 4/6/8GB RAM, 64/128GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: One UI Core 5.0 on top of Android 13 (upgradeable)
  • Rear Camera: Triple (50MP primary, 2MP depth, 2MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 13MP sensor (teardrop notch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou / QZSS, USB-C, 4G LTE, 5G
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Geomagnetic, Gyro, Light, Proximity
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 15W charging (power adapter not provided)

5. Redmi Note 12 4G

Moving on, Xiaomi’s new Redmi Note 12 4G takes the fifth spot on our list of best phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal. To be fair, it’s not as powerful as the Redmi Note 11S above but it’s a relatively more balanced package instead. Compared to the Snapdragon 680 chip in last year’s Redmi Note 11, Xiaomi has used Snapdragon 685 here for relatively smoother performance overall.

This phone also arrives with the latest version of Android—aka Android 13—with MIUI 14 on top. And the company has also committed to 2 generations of OS and 4 years of security updates for this guy. Its other highlights include a big 6.67″ 120Hz AMOLED display, 5000mAh battery, 33W fast charging, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader for biometrics.

In terms of cameras, Xiaomi has actually gotten rid of the gimmicky 2MP depth sensor here compared to the Redmi Note 11. But that’s nothing to worry about. So you’re looking at a typical triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary, an 8MP ultrawide, and a useless 2MP macro sensor. The 13MP selfie shooter inside the hole-punch cutout remains unchanged too.

Redmi Note 12 4G Specifications:

  • Display: 6.67-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 3
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 4G (6nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 4/6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB UFS 2.2 storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: MIUI 14 on top of Android 13
  • Rear Camera: Triple (50MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 13MP sensor (hole-punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo, USB-C, 4G LTE
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, E-compass, Gyro, Proximity
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 33W charging (33W adapter inside the box)
  • Price in Nepal: NPR 22,999 (4/128GB) | NPR 23,499 (6/128GB)

4. Honor 90 Lite

The new Honor 90 Lite also finds its way into our list of best phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal. Launched alongside the Honor 90, this phone brings a fairly premium-looking design and a bold look. And measuring just 7.48mm thick and weighing around 179 grams only, this thing is pretty handy too.

Up front, you’re looking at a big 6.7-inch display with an FHD resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It’s not an AMOLED panel — which is what you’d find on all the upcoming phones on this list — but it’s fine for an LCD panel. As for performance, Honor has gone with MediaTek’s Dimensity 6020 (a rebranded Dimensity 700 from 2021) chip here. Along with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage in the sole memory configuration.

Getting to cameras, Honor 90 Lite is headlined by a 100MP primary camera alongside a 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro shooter. While there’s a 16MP sensor up front for selfies. We found Honor 90 Lite’s screen time to be pretty great though, thanks to its 4500mAh battery. And to fill it up, you get a 22.5W power adapter inside the box.

Honor 90 Lite Specifications:

  • Display: 6.7-inch LTPS LCD screen, FHD+, 90Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 6020 5G (7nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 8GB RAM, 256GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: MagicOS 7.1 on top of Android 13
  • Rear Camera: Triple (100MP primary, 5MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 16MP sensor (hole-punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Beidou / Galileo, USB-C, 4G LTE, 5G
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, Compass, Proximity
  • Battery: 4500mAh with 22.5W charging (22.5W adapter inside the box)
  • Price in Nepal: NPR 31,990* (8/256GB)

3. Realme 10

And the Realme 10 takes the bronze medal on our list of best phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal. It brings some meaningful upgrades over the Realme 9 to really elevate your smartphone experience. Most notably, Realme 10 comes with a much more powerful MediaTek Helio G99 chip, which is quite a step up from Snapdragon 680 used in its predecessor.

With this, games like PUBG Mobile are playable with up to 40 fps, whereas you get to enjoy smooth 60 fps gameplay on Call of Duty Mobile. Even in something like Mech Arena, Realme 10 manages an impressive 80 fps on average. Apart from gaming performance, its software side of things is pretty well-optimized too. There are quite a bunch of bloatware apps pre-installed but you can uninstall most of them.

Realme 10 impresses with its design and display too. But the camera department sees a minor downgrade as Realme has skipped a dedicated ultrawide shooter this time. Whereas the main camera is also a 50MP unit here, instead of 108MP. Still, we found its main sensor to perform quite well under ample lighting conditions.

Realme 10 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.4-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 90Hz refresh rate
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio G99 4G (6nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 4/8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 64/128GB UFS 2.2 storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Realme UI 3.0 on top of Android 12
  • Rear Camera: Dual (50MP primary, 2MP depth)
  • Front Camera: 16MP sensor (hole-punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5 (Dual-band), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou, USB-C, 4G LTE
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Gyro, Magnetic induction, Light, Proximity
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 33W charging (33W adapter inside the box)

2. Redmi Note 12 5G

Moving on, the silver medal on our list of best phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal is the new Redmi Note 12 5G. It’s similar to the Redmi Note 12 4G in a lot of ways, like the 6.67-inch FHD AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging.

Having said that, the Note 12 5G is powered by a much more powerful Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chip instead of Snapdragon 680. With two Cortex-A78 (@2.0 GHz) and six Cortex-A55 (@1.8 GHz) CPUs and Adreno 619 GPU, this is the most powerful processor you could find in this price range. Unfortunately, although Xiaomi has promised 2 years of OS and 4 years of security updates for Redmi Note 12 5G, this phone still ships with Android 12-based MIUI 14 out-of-the-box.

As for the cameras, it swaps Redmi Note 12 4G’s 50MP main sensor with a 48MP unit while borrowing everything else. This includes an 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro, and a 13MP selfie shooter. Other than this, Redmi Note 12 5G is IP53 dust/splash resistant and has the same side-mounted fingerprint reader for biometrics too.

Redmi Note 12 5G Specifications:

  • Display: 6.67-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass 3
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 5G (6nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 4/6GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB UFS 2.2 storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: MIUI 14 on top of Android 12
  • Rear Camera: Triple (48MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 13MP sensor (hole-punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / AGPS / Glonass, USB-C, 4G LTE, 5G
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, E-compass, Gyro, Proximity
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 33W charging (33W adapter inside the box)
  • Price in Nepal: NPR 28,499 (6/128GB)

1. Samsung Galaxy A24 4G

Finally, the number one spot on our list of best phones under NPR 30000 in Nepal is the new Samsung Galaxy A24 4G. Unlike Samsung’s most budget phones in 2023 so far, this one actually brings a pretty balanced spec sheet. Starting with performance, Galaxy A24 is powered by MediaTek Helio G99 chip—just like Realme 11 and POCO M5 above. And while Helio G99 isn’t as powerful as Galaxy A14 5G’s Exynos 1330 on paper, this is a lot more reliable and a lot better-optimized chip for everyday use.

This has been paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, with an option to further expand the storage via a micro SD card. And in terms of software, Galaxy A24 4G runs on the latest Android 13-based One UI 5.1. But more importantly, Samsung has promised 4 generations of OS and 5 years of security updates for this phone, which is the longest software commitment you get in any budget device.

Its 6.5-inch FHD Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate is also pretty sweet. The notch and the bottom bezel aren’t the prettiest things to look at, but it’s not a big deal. Galaxy A24 has a decent camera setup too, consisting of a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 5MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro, and a 13MP selfie camera. The phone gets its juice from a big 5000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.

Samsung Galaxy A24 4G Specifications:

  • Display: 6.5-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 90Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio G99 4G (6nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 6/8GB RAM, 128GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: One UI 5.1 on top of Android 13
  • Rear Camera: Triple (50MP primary, 5MP ultrawide, 2MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 13MP sensor (teardrop punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (side-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / QZSS / BeiDou, USB-C, 4G LTE
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Geomagnetic, Gyro, Light, Virtual proximity
  • Battery: 5000mAh with 25W charging (power adapter not provided)
